Jim Patterson has lived in Chandler for over 60 years. He served on the Chandler City Council from 1976-1980, became Mayor in 1980 and served for four years. He was President of the East Valley Partnership from 1986-1987, Chairman of the ADOT Transportation Board for two terms (1988 - 1989) and is still very active in addressing transportation issue for the East Valley and Pinal County. He worked as Vice President of Empire Machinery from 1973 - 1984 before leaving to open his own development company (1984-2000) and most recently serves as a consultant on a number of municipal issues. He is the father of three sons.
