8:30am to 2:30pm
Desert Willow Conference Center
4340 East Cotton Center Blvd.
Phoenix  AZ  85040

Overview of the symposium:
This symposium is designed to explain why new discoveries in plant and animal bio-technology offer the best-perhaps the only-hope of feeding a burgeoning world population in the face of rapidly rising food costs.  The tagline must be:  More for Less (as in more food for less cost).

Barbara Glenn PhD, Director for Animal Biotechnology at National BIO will give the keynote address:  Biotechnology for Safe and Sustainable Foods.  Terry Etherton, PhD, Department Head and Distinguished Professor of Animal Nutrition, Department of Dairy and Animal Science at Penn State University will talk about the latest developments in animal food production.  A speaker from Monsanto will discuss the same for plant food production.  George J. Seperich, PhD, Professor and Associate Dean, Morrison School of Management and Agribusiness at ASU will focus on food technology developments.  We are looking to highlight the latest trends in agriculture and the latest biotechnology developments for safe and sustainable foods.

We shall close with what should be a highly charged panel discussion among producers and users of Bio-enhanced products regarding public acceptance/resistance to such products.  We plan to include growers, grocers, and restaurateurs on the panel.  We are lining up expert panel participants and refining specific questions for what will be a lively discussion.
