Chandler, Tempe and Scottsdale will be named three of the 100 best communities for young people today by America's Promise, an organization founded by former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. More than 1,000 communities nationwide vied for the organization's recognition.
This is the second year all three cities have won.
The top 100 were picked for their support and resources for young people and the outcome the youths achieve. Chandler Mayor Boyd Dunn will join Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman and Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross to make the announcement at 10 a.m. in Mesa at the East Valley Institute of Technology, 1601 W. Main St. |
